Vehicle Accident with Pin-In
On June 5th, Flowes Store was dispatched to assist Midland with a vehicle accident involving pin-in at the intersection of US Highway 601 and Wallace rd. Flowes Store Engine 1 and Flowes Store Engine 2 were assigned LZ while en route by Midland 9. Flowes Store assisted with patient care and securing the roadway. Flowes Store cleared the scene upon departure of Med Center Air.

Garage Fire
On May 27th, Flowes Store was dispatched to a vehicle fire. While enroute dispatch advised vehicle was in a garage and the fire was upgraded to a structure fire. Midland, Allen, Georgeville, and Harrisburg fire departments were added to the working fire upgrade. Flowes Store 9 arrived on scene with heavy fire showing from a detached garage, Flowes Store along with assisting departments got control of the fire within 45 minutes.

Vehicle Accident
On May 26th, Flowes Store and Allen Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle accident on the district line. Once on scene Flowes Store Engine 2 found a single vehicle off the roadway, with one patient. Flowes Store verified the accident occured in Allens district. Once on scene Allen 9 assumed command, Flowes Store Engine 2 remained on scene to assist with patient care.

New Engine 2 Arrives
On February 26th Flowes Store took delivery of a 2009 Seagrave Custom Rescue Engine. This unit will replace the current Engine 2.

Working House Fire
On January 28th, Flowes Store, Midland, Georgeville, Allen, and West Stanly were dispatched to a structure fire in Midlands district. While en-route dispatch advised occupants trapped. Midland Engine 1 arrived on scene to confirm working fire and occupant free. Flowes Store assisted with fire attack and search.

New Engine Final Inspection
On January 25th, members of the apparatus committee traveled to the Seagrave Facility in Clintonville, Wisconsin to conduct the final inspection of Flowes Stores new Engine 2.

Working House Fire
Flowes Store was dispatched on a house fire with Allen VFD, Georgeville VFD, and Concord FD, in Allens area. Upon arrival Allen 9 advised smoke and flames showing from a single story vacant structure. Flowes Store was assigned fire attack and assisted with overhaul.

MVA with Vehicle Into A Tree
Flowes Store was dispatched to a MVA Upon arrival Flowes Store 10 assumed command of a single vehicle accident, vehicle into a tree. Flowes Store provided medical care to the two occupants and secured the vehicle. The patients were transported to the hospital by Cabarrus County EMS.

Midland Kitchen Fire
Flowes Store was dispatched to assist Midland with a possible structure fire. Midland 9 checked on scene with smoke showing, upon investigation firefighters found a fire in the kitchen. Flowes Store assisted with suppression and checking for fire extension.

New Engine Company Construction Underway
In June of 2009, Flowes Store ordered a new Seagrave Rescue Engine. Funding was provided by a grant from the USDA. This Engine will not only be able to handle normal fireground incidents, but various rescue incidents as well. The estimated completion date will be February 2010.

Ethanol Tanker Overturned In Midland
Flowes Store responded to Midland to assist with an ethanol tanker that overturned and leaking. Flowes Store assisted with manning exposure lines and air monitoring during drilling and offload operations. Multiple Cabarrus and Mecklenburg County agencies were called to assist; including Charlotte and Concord Hazmat Teams.

Vehicle Overturned
Flowes Store was dispatched to an MVA involving an overturned vehicle. Engine 1 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle accident with a vehicle overturned in the woods. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.

Fairview Structure Fire
Flowes Store was dispatched to assist Midland with a possible structure fire. Once on scene, it was determined to be in Fairview Fire Departments alarm area. Flowes Store Engine 1 was assigned to assist with fire attack and ventilation.

Multiple Vehicle Accident
While in the area, Flowes Store was requested to assist Midland with a multiple vehicle accident. Command was established by Midland 9 and Flowes Store Engine 1 provided a traffic block and assisted with patient care.

Flowes Store was dispatched, along with Harrisburg and Midland, to a structure fire. Upon arrival Flowes Store Engine 1 assumed command and declared working fire. A knock down was made within in minutes.

Water Rescue
Flowes Store was dispatched to assist Harrisburg, along with the Cabarrus County Water Rescue Team, with various water rescues and evacuations in Harrisburg. Crews worked for over a 9 hour period after heavy rains flooded numerous areas in Cabarrus County.

MVA With Rollover
Several Flowes Store units and Harrisburg Engine 2 responded to a single vehicle rollover with an ejected patient. Flowes Store 9 established command. Patient was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital via EMS.

Brush Fire
While doing Firefighter rescue and survivor training, Flowes Store was dispatched to a brush fire with weather conditions of 30-40 MPH winds. Flowes Store Brush 1 and Engine 2 along with Harrisburg Engine 3 responded. Flowes Store 13 established command. Despite the high wind conditions the fire was quickly controlled and extinguished. Firefighters from other departments (Jackson Park and Odell) who were taking the class aided in extinguishing the fire.

Firefighter Rescue
Over two weekends in February firefighters from Flowes Store, Harrisburg, Jackson Park, and Odell participated in a Firefighter Rescue and Survival Class. Firefighters learned a variety of survival techniques along with rescuing a down firefighter. Among the exercises were properly calling �Mayday�, quick escape from a building onto a ladder, confined space maneuverability, an entanglement scenario, and search and rescue of a down firefighter. Most scenarios were done in black-out conditions where the firefighters could not see.

Flowes Store Engine 1 responded to a 2 car MVA on Lower Rocky River Rd. Flowes Store 12 established command of the scene. One patient was transported to the Hospital via EMS.

Flowes Store was dispatched to assist Midland, along with Georgeville and Allen, to a possible structure fire. Flowes Store 13 arrived on scene with smoke and flames visible. Flowes Store assisted Midland with fire suppression and made vertical ventilation.

Multiple Pin-in
Flowes Store responded to a vehicle accident with two people pinned. Flowes Store 11 arrived to find a vehicle that had struck a tree. A driver and passenger were pinned in the vehicle and had to be freed.

Fully Involved House Fire
Flowes Store VFD responded to Harrisburg for a fully involved house fire. Harrisburg Engine 2 arrived to find a 2 story residence fully involved. A tanker shuttle operation was used since there were no hydrants in the area. Flowes Store assisted with personnel and a tanker. Units were on scene for several hours.
